Commentary

The type B fighter is the one nearly everyone loves to avoid. When the ship moves for a bit of time, the left option shoots in the left cardinal direction, and the right option shoots in the right cardinal direction. For players weaving from edge to edge trying to kill everything in sight without getting hit, one option shoots where there are no enemies. Yet for those who had enough practice with both the type A and type C fighters, the type B fighter remains useful. It has the power of the type A with the firing range of the type C.

I have yet to rigorously practice using the type B-L fighter, but I have had plenty of practice with the type B-S. Because of its overpowering attack power and quirky options, it can kill too many enemies at one time, thus cutting off chains. With practice, type B-S players can let the options do the work by moving and firing slowly. B-S players can even destroy escaping enemies to the sides in the last minute so they can earn more hits. Like other shot-powered ships, the type B-S has a weak laser and is slow while the laser is in use. Thus, the B-S player must endure longer boss battles and have faster reaction times. Overall, type B-S is good for those who have experience in playing DoDonPachi and would like a challenging fighter to use.
