Commentary
Fighter type C-S is the one that most DoDonPachi players use. For beginners, the fighter can cover the screen with shots, so
lots of enemies will be destroyed before they're able to even fire
one bullet. The fighter's also good for the expert, who wants to use the
option shots to destroy enemies to the sides, especially those that are escaping, to continue a chain.
Its laser, however, is the weakest among the three shot-powered
ships. Although the laser can leech more hits from larger enemies,
it will take a long time to destroy scary bosses. Once the player
can endure such boss battles, the C-S is a powerful fighter for all
sorts of players.
Type C-L, on the other hand, is reserved only for those with
faster reflexes. Although its laser can cut through anything like
other laser-powered fighter, it's shot is weak in more than just
its attack power. Because the shots are spread out, you can destroy one
small tank and disarm an adjacent one. You may end up destroying a line
of these small tanks quicker than you would with the type A, and your
chain usually gets cut off. One would have to conjure up more
creativity
to master this beast of a fighter.
